Jane Lawrie is a freelance food stylist with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She likes to keep up to date with the latest food trends, happily eating and cooking her way through life.
“Born hungry, I've always loved to cook, so imagine how happy I was when I found out I could do it for a living. After graduating with a degree in home economics I worked on the editorial team of a number of best selling magazines, creating recipes, and styling them on photo shoots.
I love my job! and a busy and varied career has given me the opportunity be a part of many creative teams, working with the very best photographers, art directors and prop stylists.
With an experienced eye, and many years spent styling food, I create beautiful food for point of sale, packaging, and editorial imagery.
As well as working on stills photography, I have experience making moving images too - stop motion; gifs and video.
Creating bespoke recipes is part of my work that I love too. I can develop ideas to showcase a particular product or ingredient, then write and test the recipe to perfection.
I also happily work alongside development chefs on location in their commercial kitchens or at a studio, making menus and products look mouthwatering.
Writing about food and editing copy is another part of my work I enjoy and I have written and edited many cookery books.
